  • "Very interesting image. One could get a variety of messages from this." Rob Paterson about 1 year ago
  • "Thank you !" Tim WilsonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Like many of your pictures I admire the use of shadows and simple graphic lines. " David RobinsonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "I like the simplicity of the shot and the curved lines. It looks like an invitation to rest before a long journey ahead. I'd crop it in a way that the right path line would end exactly at the lower right corner, matching the left side of the picture." Rubens Alarcon about 1 year ago
  • "Yes it was...was fairly close too, in the blind" Eleanor OvtscherenkoInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Nice timing getting these three in a row!! Was this taken with the 70-300G lense? " Ross Blakey about 1 year ago
  • "the original conveys more info (name), I can darken that sign in pS. thanks" Eleanor OvtscherenkoInfo about 1 year ago
  • "you know what, after looking at the two together, I like the original, just has more edge. " Mark HelmInfo about 1 year ago
  • "I think this is an improvement, still like the movement" Mark HelmInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Definitely looks better with the modification and noted you cropped more square. Neat!! " Ross Blakey about 1 year ago
  • "Thanks David... don't mind at all, in fact, never thought of this as I'm not familiar with all the tools available in PSE 4.0" Ross Blakey about 1 year ago
  • "If this is an experiment than I will suggest that you try the Shadow/Highlighty adjustment in Photoshop, there is good detail in the highlight areas of the back leaves and the tool will bring it out and knock down the highlights a bit. Kind of interesting the shape of the area in focus pointing tpo the subject." David RobinsonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "this is so cool wish I had seen it two weeks ago before the CAPA creative closed." Mark HelmInfo about 1 year ago
  • "I have been trying to photograph some birds this winter so that gives ma na appreciation for just how good this picture is. Funny how the littel bit of food in his mouth makes it an interesting photo." David RobinsonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "I'd suggest a little corrective work in straightening the image i.e. it's leaning to the right. It's framed ok by the lights but I'm not sure what the subject is...." Brenda Fee-PerkinsInfo about 1 year ago
  • "No, just didn't change it from earlier that night.. 800 or 400 would work too, just longer exposure time then" Eleanor OvtscherenkoInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Any reason why you used 1600 Iso vs say 400 or even 200?" Shaun Carnegie about 1 year ago
  • "This was around 10 or 11 pm at night. Used a tripod, and the existing light only, 1 sec @ ISO 1600, f 4.5. " Eleanor OvtscherenkoInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Hi, first of great picture something about the lighting is really catchy. What time at night was this taken at and were you using a tripod or any supplementary lighting?" Shaun Carnegie about 1 year ago
  • "Shaun, when I made this comment I was using an AG Neovo F-419, which is about 4 years old and definitely not high-end. I just bought a new monitor (BENQ E2400HD) and the effect is still visible but much fainter. I haven't attempted to calibrate this monitor yet; generally I don't bother calibrating since the factory settings are usually pretty good. A good way to check for this sort of thing is to go into the Brightness/Contrast tool, turn the contrast up by 50% or so, then run the brightness slider up and down the full range. That reveals a lot." Fraser McCrossanInfo about 1 year ago
  • "I'm so embarassed, I just looked at the image on my girlfriend's laptop and if you look at it from the right angle you can totally see the darker white outline where I scaled the avocado part and blended it back into the background. Has anyone ever run into this problem and if so is there a way to make it so that you can see such discrepancies or is it just the difference between a High end monitor vs Low End?" Shaun Carnegie about 1 year ago
  • "P.S my monitor is a Samsung 225BW" Shaun Carnegie about 1 year ago
  • "Getting to Fraser's comment, just out of curiosity what monitor are you using? I have a sneaky suspicion that my monitor isn't completely accurate, to me when I was done editing it looked even but like I said I suspect that my monitor isn't showing me everything. I wish I had way of seeing what you do, perhaps I will try a comple of other computers in the house and my LCD TV to see If they will reveal anymore detail." Shaun Carnegie about 1 year ago
  • "it's funny that you mention the thing about it being too small cause I I actually scaled down and right justified the image. Perhaps I'll repost this with the original where the avocado is centered and dominated the scene" Shaun Carnegie about 1 year ago
  • "Thanks for all the comments! it" Shaun Carnegie about 1 year ago
  • "On my display I see a difference between the white background and a curved whiter area abive and left of the avocado where I guess you were erasing background. There are also grey smudges just at the top of the fruit. Have you ever printed this image?" Fraser McCrossanInfo about 1 year ago
  • "For inexpensive white background I have a roll of white drafting paper, I got from Mercury Blue printing. 30" wide and I have been just ripping off teh used part for years." David RobinsonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "I agree with Brenda, If the avocado was much larger and dominated the space, it may be an interesting image" Tim WilsonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "I'm really surprised at the white you were able to achieve from the fabric - good job. I think this shot has some real potential however I find that the avacado is positioned just a little too much to the right to balance out all the 'blank' space. I like the surreal quality of the avacado." Brenda Fee-PerkinsInfo about 1 year ago
  • "This is a dynamic image which would be a dynamic part of a creative image, a good background for something commercial." David RobinsonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Very steady looking for a hand held night shot; excitment in the colours!" Rob Paterson about 1 year ago
  • "Eleanor, these night shots really turned out well something I am still working at." Mark HelmInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Nice sense of movement played against the stationary people inside. I might be tempted to crop down to the red line to eliminate the Albert sight, I find that a distraction. Really like this one. " Mark HelmInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Nice blend of colours, and the darkened background and selective focus really gives a 3d appearance. Only thing I would have done is cropped more off of the top." David RobinsonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "well timed, the symmetry and colour work perfectly" Bill BoswellInfo about 1 year ago
  • "the decisive moment...one more step and the person may not have been a positive element in the photo " Tim WilsonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "great textures and colours, probably 1 of many possible shots there" Bill BoswellInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Where did you find this gem?" Eleanor OvtscherenkoInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Nice position for the composition, I like the 4th bird is just a little out of the pattern, it adds some tension." David RobinsonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Nice commercial work, all of the white space at the top seems to need some words to make an add out of it. " David RobinsonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Nice ipod commercial shot. Too bad about the shadow on the wall just below his hands." Brenda Fee-PerkinsInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Clean, simple and graphic, I really like it, the low clouds are a bonus" Bill BoswellInfo about 1 year ago
  • "There's only one thing missing in this image.... me on the beach." Eleanor OvtscherenkoInfo about 1 year ago
  • "effective simplicity, very nice colours and in fact there are a lot of different shapes in this image." Paul GarnerInfo about 1 year ago
  • "This is so elegantly simple. The 2 verticals contrast so well with the horizontal lines at the bottom. I love this image !" Tim WilsonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "nice one Ross, good to see that Spring is trying to get here..... the green, yellow and white on that trillium is very attractive." Paul GarnerInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Typical!! The things we do to get a piccie..." Ross Blakey about 1 year ago
  • "This is a better picture than the one I took" Tim WilsonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "another WW moment" Mark HelmInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, Empire Michigan" Dave WellingtonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Dave, this place will likely be our next WW location, were is it at." Mark HelmInfo about 1 year ago
  • "butterfly is nice and sharp and I 2nd Fraser's comments" Bill BoswellInfo about 1 year ago
  • "I like the vignetting effect here. I'd suggest darkening the background upper right and cloning out the... whatever that thing is in her hair upper left. Skin just behind the butterfly is blown out too, but that's probably fixable too." Fraser McCrossanInfo about 1 year ago
  • "one funny looking animal....... you got great exposure on the animal with excellent detail" Paul GarnerInfo about 1 year ago
  • "that is one ugly horse !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Mark HelmInfo about 1 year ago
  • "captures a nice peaceful evening scene, agree with Mark re lots to look at, agre with comment re island being a little too much in the middle... love the seagull" Paul GarnerInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Lovely sunset, agree with Fraser th composition is a little heavy to the left, the gull helps in the uppper right" Bill NiessenInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Very nice indeed. If I was to suggest any change it would be to move to the right a bit and point the camera more left, to get the sun a bit further into the frame, and move the island in the background away from the centre. The boats are underexposed but that suits the mood of the picture. Very well done." Fraser McCrossanInfo about 1 year ago
  • "lots of intrest, like the atmoshphere good one" Mark HelmInfo about 1 year ago
  • "very nice and realistic colour, well done!" Bill BoswellInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Ha, Olympus and Pentax in the same shot, and not a Canon or Nikon in sight. That's what I like to see!" Fraser McCrossanInfo about 1 year ago
  • "I think the sleeping child's eyes need to be totally closed. Otherwise, it appears as if the photo was taken when they blinked. Without the title of the image, we wouldn't know this child was sleeping. I'd suggest a white matt. Matching the matt to the colour of an object that is not the subject of the image only draws attention away from the subject." Brenda Fee-PerkinsInfo about 1 year ago
  • "I like this, it tells a story & documents life on the street. Nice in b/w. The 'Canada logo' in the corner is great !" Tim WilsonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "I like this shot. It really captures his personality." Bill BoswellInfo about 1 year ago
  • "you certainly captured the moment" Paul GarnerInfo about 1 year ago
  • "it is different and very nice, agree with other remarks and I like that little touch of colour on the b/g." Paul GarnerInfo about 1 year ago
  • "I agree, very nice indeed. I like th dark effect high in the sky. Either well-blended or good use of graduated ND filter." Fraser McCrossanInfo about 1 year ago
  • "good one, I really like how the mist uplifting to the clouds, worth the dirve" Mark HelmInfo about 1 year ago
  • "ooh, that is very nice !" Tim WilsonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "great impact and I like the way the line leads into the lighter area" Bill BoswellInfo about 1 year ago
  • "really like this, definite visual impact and it's a "natural" selective colouring... that one little coloured ? leaf on the right is neat." Paul GarnerInfo about 1 year ago
  • "like this one, unusual prespective" Mark HelmInfo about 1 year ago
  • "good DOF and exposure but this type of image needs to be symmetrical" Paul GarnerInfo about 1 year ago
  • "I would turn this photograph 90ยบ Counter Clockwise and increase the saturation and contrast. Turning it makes the arches on the left into a base. " David RobinsonInfo about 1 year ago
  • "This is a good exposure of a difficult subject, but it looks a little unbalanced: top of cirlce is cut off but bottom is not, sweeping lines to the left but not to the right. Which Governer's palace is it?" Fraser McCrossanInfo about 1 year ago
  • "Great to see so many of your shots, Bruce. Rule of 3rds applies here. have the sky 1/3 of the frame." Don Thierry about 1 year ago
  • "You can use filters, you just need to buy an adapter from the folks below. Check your manual. The Lensmate adapter are better than the official Canon ones." Fraser McCrossanInfo about 1 year ago
  • "I cannot put filters on my camera. do you have any other suggestions?" Don Thierry about 1 year ago
  • "A UV or haze filter might help (http://www.lensmateonline.com/newsite/S2.html for adapters). Selectively enhancing the contrast in Gimp would help too. Sometimes difficult, if too hazy." Fraser McCrossanInfo about 1 year ago
  • "This was shot around 11 am and the humidity already sets in. I was shooting with a Canon S5IS. What could I do to reduce the haze?" Don Thierry about 1 year ago
  • "This is a nice composition, with the canal flowing in and out of the image. Colours seem a little muted and it's a bit hazy in the background." Fraser McCrossanInfo about 1 year ago
